Clarifier Flights
Flights are the boards that move sludge along the floor and scum across the surface of a rectangular clarifier. We manufacture two types: aluminum flights made of 6063 T-5 profile — the most economical alternative to FRP and wood, with a patented no-drill mounting system — and fiberglass (FRP) flights in SIGMA and DIAMOND profiles, up to 75% lighter than steel, with a large cross-section and high stiffness. Both types resist corrosion and chemicals, contain UV inhibitors, and work with F-226/F-228 attachments on non-metallic, stainless steel, and cast-iron chains. A lighter flight means lower drag throughout the system — and therefore a lower load on the chain and drive, and a longer service life for every component.

Frequently asked questions
Aluminum or fiberglass flights — which should I choose?
Aluminum (6063 T-5) is the least expensive to buy and fully recyclable — it performs well in typical clarifiers. FRP (SIGMA/DIAMOND) is the choice for wide tanks, heavy sludge, and applications demanding maximum stiffness at minimum weight. We will help you match the profile to your installation.
Does installing the flights require drilling the boards?
Not with HMAX aluminum flights — the patented slotted tracks let you mount and position the attachments and wear shoes without drilling or notching, which shortens the retrofit time.
Will the flights fit my chain?
The flights work with F-226 and F-228 attachments, used on non-metallic, stainless steel, and cast-iron chains (metal chains require an isolation plate). Just tell us the chain type or send a photo.
What lengths are the flights available in?
Aluminum flights come in 8″ and 6″ sizes (including heavy duty); FRP — SIGMA up to 8 m and DIAMOND up to 10 m as standard. We cut lengths to fit your tank.
